In just a matter of days, the autumnal equinox begins. As nature starts to prepare to take its rest, we begin to slow down to enjoy it. As with Spring, the world becomes a colorful, inspiring place once again. Colors like deep red, burnt orange, olive green, and navy blue take center stage in the atmosphere.
The ideas of preparing more down-home feasts for our loved ones and ourselves dance in our heads as we look forward to celebrating some of our biggest holidays. This year may have given us quite a run; however, we still manage to make its best. Our hope for improvement is one reason we continue to strive for the best in our thoughts, looks, and feelings.
I wanted to capture the essence of the season with a makeup inspired by Autumn. Here is the breakdown:
Eyes: We used brown eye shadow with a subtle shimmer to accentuate the eyelid. Rust orange eye shadow applied to the crease as a transition color, and navy blue eye shadow used to contour the eye's outer corner.
The burnt orange eyeliner placed underneath the lower lash line to complement the shadows placed on the upper eyelid, and subtle but showy false eyelashes to further enhance the eye's shape.
Cheeks: Deep reddish-brown blush used to complement the yellow-olive undertone of the skin and enhance the colors used on the eyes.
Lips: A reddish-brown nude lip added to the look to bring complete color harmony to the eyes and cheek makeup.
